Overview
This article explains how to configure Average Scoring within a Risk 365 template.
Selecting Average Scoring allows you to control how the final assessment score is calculated. You can define score ranges and assign point values to each rating. The system then:
Scores each individual field
Calculates an overall average score
Maps the final score to the ranges you have configured
This ensures your risk ratings align with your organisation’s internal risk framework.
How to Set Up Average Scoring
To configure Average Scoring:
Select Average Scoring as the scoring type when creating or editing a template.
This will open the scoring configuration side panel.
Use the slider controls on the scale to define the overall score ranges.
These ranges determine how final average scores are categorised (e.g. Low, Medium, High).
Allocate point values for each score rating.
These values are used to calculate the average assessment score.
Click Save to apply and retain your changes.
Set up average scoring panel
Important
Ensure your score ranges do not overlap and reflect your organisation’s defined risk appetite.
Changes to scoring configuration should be reviewed carefully before publishing the template for live assessments.
