Overview
This article explains how to configure Automatic Scoring within a Risk 365 template.
Automatic Scoring allows you to define how risk assessment scores are calculated automatically, reducing manual input and ensuring consistency.
Configuration options vary depending on the field’s data type:
List
Date
Numeric
Enabling Automatic Scoring for List Fields (Manual or System)
List fields allow you to assign scores to predefined options.
To enable automatic scoring for a list field:
Select the Enable Automatic Scoring checkbox.
Assign a score to each:
List option (for Manual fields), or
Value option (for System fields).
Click Add Field to save your changes.
This ensures each selected option automatically contributes to the overall assessment score.

Enabling Automatic Scoring for Date Fields (Manual or System)
Date fields allow scoring based on defined time ranges.
To enable automatic scoring for a date field:
Select the Enable Automatic Scoring checkbox.
Choose a Time Range type.
Enter the number of months for the range.
Assign a score to that range.
Click Add Range, then repeat steps 2–4 to create additional ranges if required.
Click Add Field to save your changes.
The system will automatically apply the relevant score based on the date value entered or retrieved.

Enabling Automatic Scoring for Manual Numeric Fields
Numeric fields allow scoring based on defined minimum and maximum thresholds.
To enable automatic scoring for a numeric field:
Select the Enable Automatic Scoring checkbox.
Enter values in the Minimum and Maximum fields to define the range.
Assign a score for that range.
Click Add Range, and repeat the steps to create additional ranges if required.
Click Add Field to save your changes.
The system will automatically assign the appropriate score based on the numeric value entered.

Important
Carefully review all scoring ranges to ensure they align with your organisation’s defined risk appetite and assessment framework.
Incorrect or overlapping ranges may result in inaccurate overall risk scores.
