Overview
This article explains how filtering works across the Network, helping you quickly find and refine results when working with connections and other filterable lists.
You’ll learn how to:
- Use the Filter by keyword field
- Apply filters using the filter slider
- Use drop-down and free-text filter fields
- Clear or close filters
Using the Filter by Keyword
Whenever the Filter by keyword box is visible , click into the field and begin typing relevant details. The system will automatically filter results as you type, allowing you to quickly narrow down what you’re looking for.
Using the Filter Slider
When the filter icon is present, selecting it will open a filter slider from the right-hand side of the screen.
From here:
- You can apply any of the available filter options listed
- Multiple filters can be used together to further refine results
- Results update automatically as filters are applied
Drop-Down vs Free-Text Fields
Some filterable fields display a down-arrow . Selecting this arrow expands a drop-down list showing available options you can choose from.
Fields without a down-arrow accept free text. You can type any relevant value to filter results.
Example: Entering the word “south” in the Region field will return results where connections have an address in locations such as Southeast or Southwest England.
Selecting Filter Options
When you select a checkbox, a white tick on a green background appears, indicating that the option has been applied. The system will immediately update the results based on your selection.
Useful example: Selecting “Not requested” under Business connection request status alongside “Registered” will filter results to show all registered members you can send a new business connection request to.
Clearing or Closing Filters
In the top-right corner of the filter slider:
- Select the Clear filters icon
to remove all previously applied filters
- Select the Close icon to close the slider
You can also close the slider by clicking anywhere on the page to the left of it.
