Overview
This article explains how sorting works across the REG Network, allowing you to organise data displayed in tables and lists to suit your needs.
You’ll learn how to:
- Sort data using column headers
- Understand the different sorting options available
- Use the Order by option on the Active Connections page
Sorting Using Column Headers
You can sort data by selecting a sorting option linked to any column displayed in a table.
To view the available sorting options:
- Select the down-arrow on the column header you want to sort by
- Choose the relevant sorting option from the pop-up menu
The sorting options shown will vary depending on the type of data within that column.
Available Sorting Options
Across the REG Network, you may see the following sorting options:
Alphabetical Sorting
- A–Z – Ascending alphabetical order
- Z–A – Descending alphabetical order
Date Sorting
- Older to Newer – Sorts by date starting with the oldest
- Newer to Older – Sorts by date starting with the newest
Status-Based Sorting
- Yes to No – Sorts items where an action has been completed first
- No to Yes – Sorts items where actions are still outstanding first
Numerical Sorting
- Smaller to Larger – Sorts values starting with the smallest
- Larger to Smaller – Sorts values starting with the largest
System-Based Sorting
- Ascending – Sorts using internal system values (not alphabetical)

Filter Option
- Filter by – This is not a sorting option. Selecting this opens the filter slider, allowing you to further refine results using filters.
Using the Order By Option (Active Connections)
On the Active Connections page, selecting the Order by button will expand a drop-down list of predefined sorting options.
Available options include:
- Connection name (A–Z or Z–A)
- Added (Older to Newer or Newer to Older)
- External ID (A–Z or Z–A)
- Registration Number (A–Z or Z–A)
- Regulatory Number (A–Z or Z–A)
Selecting any option will immediately apply the chosen sort order to the list.
